Ready in a few minutes
NextFireSync is a side panel inside Outlook or Gmail. Start with an account, connect your ERPNext, then install the client you use.
- Create a free account at app.nextfiresync.com
- Enter your ERPNext URL and API key / secret, then test the connection
- Install the Outlook add-in or the Gmail Workspace add-on (steps below)
Important: Plain POP3 or IMAP accounts do not support Office add-ins. Use a Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, or Exchange mailbox for Outlook. Gmail requires a Google Workspace (or supported Gmail) account that can run Workspace add-ons.
Outlook
Install in Outlook on the web
- Download the
manifest.xmlfile using the link above. - Open Outlook on the web and sign in.
- Open any email message.
- Select Apps in the message or More Apps in the ribbon.
- Select Get Add-ins, then open My add-ins.
- Under Custom Addins, select Add a custom add-in.
- Choose Add from file, upload the downloaded
manifest.xml, and confirm the installation. - Open another email, select Apps, and choose NextFireSync.
Install in the new Outlook for Windows
- Open an email and select Apps in the ribbon.
- Select Get Add-ins, then My add-ins.
- Under Custom Addins, choose Add from file.
- Upload the downloaded
manifest.xmland confirm the installation. - Open NextFireSync from Apps in an email.
The installation is linked to your Microsoft account. When you use the same account, the add-in also appears in Outlook on the web and on other supported Outlook devices.
First launch in Outlook
- Sign in in the NextFireSync side panel (same account as on app.nextfiresync.com).
- Open an email from a contact in your ERPNext.
- The panel shows the matching contact, customer or lead, open ToDos and recent communications.
- Depending on your ERPNext permissions, you can create or update contacts, ToDos and Tasks from the panel.
Keep the add-in open
Open NextFireSync in a message and pin the side panel using the pin icon. It will remain open when you move between messages.
If Custom Addins is unavailable, your Microsoft 365 organisation may have disabled manual installations. Ask your administrator to deploy the manifest centrally.
Gmail
NextFireSync for Gmail runs as a Google Workspace Add-on beside the message you are reading. The public Google Workspace Marketplace listing may still be under review; early access is available for Workspace users.
Install / open the Gmail add-on
- Complete signup and ERPNext connection at app.nextfiresync.com.
- In Gmail on the web, open a message and look for the NextFireSync add-on in the side panel (right-hand add-on bar).
- If the add-on is not yet visible in your Workspace, ask your Google Workspace admin to install or allow the add-on, or contact us for current install instructions while Marketplace review is pending.
- Sign in with the same account you use in the config portal, then open NextFireSync on a selected message.
The Gmail panel uses the same backend as Outlook: contact lookup, create/update contact, ToDos, Tasks and email attach.
